MilSpouse Friday Fill-In #73

On the first Friday of every month, Wife of a Sailor does a fill-in for milspouse bloggers.  I've been participating for a while now, so away we go!

Father's Day 2012
1.  What's the one thing in the past month you would have changed?  I feel like June flew by.  Looking back, it's a big blur.  If I could've changed anything, it would be the tension in our home due to house hunting and DH leaving for tech school.  I wish we could've enjoyed more quiet moments together before he left, with less bickering and arguing.

2.  What was your favorite thing that happened in June?  Probably going on a road trip to Kansas with my dad.  I don't get to spend nearly as much time with him in my adult life, so I try to soak up as much as I can when given the chance.

3.  What did you do to celebrate Independence Day?  The biggest thing I accomplished was probably this blog post.  Seriously now, I slept in really late, put on all of my red/white/blue gear, went to brunch with a friend, took a nap that day, and spent a couple hours at my uncle's house with family.  The fourth was really low key this year here in Colorado, where fireworks were being cancelled and folks fined if they dared to do so.  I was exhausted that day, and back to work tomorrow.

4.  When you PCS, what items do you take with you and not let the movers pack (and if you do a DITY, what do you take with you and not box up)?  Important documents, liquids and candles I don't want to have to throw out, enough clothes to get me through until the rest of my stuff arrives, my laptop and other important electronics, and my makeup.

5.  What are you looking forward to in July?  I'm always the most enthusiastic when I'm forward looking, at least on these posts.  I'm looking forward to more free time, after a really busy June!  I'm looking forward to the Kenny Chesney/Tim McGraw "Brothers of the Sun" tour that I'm attending courtesy of the Air Force Reserve!  An MTI friend of mine is coming into town to visit family, and we'll probably head out to do some dancing up in Denver - beyond excited about that!  Lastly, at the end of the month I'm going to Sheppard AFB to visit DH for a long weekend, which is pretty much the last hurrah of the summer.

I hate the pre-separation arguments. As normal as they are, I hate that we still fall into them.

@Wifey - Exactly. And when I try to bring that to his attention, it just gets denied. It was a really rough few weeks.
