WHW: Softball

It's that time again!  The week is flying by and luckily I'm getting an earlier start on my Friday IEP than normal - out of necessity, not responsibility.  I need to get into gear, especially for all of my meetings next week!  But until then, it's We Heart Wednesday time!

I don't want to to get Haywee too excited over here, but I love softball!  It was my sport in high school and I played varsity all four years because we didn't have a JV team.  I can admit, I wasn't a super star.  I was an outfielder, and I spent a lot of time on the bench, leading the cheers and doing stats.  All of that being said, I enjoyed it and I loved my time on the team.

All of the those happy memories come back with the start of our district's softball league.  I didn't formally sign up, since these last two months at school are extremely busy for me, in addition to doing my own training at home for the Air Force.  There's a chance I can walk on and help out though, and there's a game tomorrow.  Haywee even bought her first mitt today!  I had found my stuff in the garage, so out it came - bat, mitt, bat weight, sliding pads, etc.  I threw the pads in the washer and I may just stick around tomorrow for the game, do my run on campus, and work on my IEPs until game time.  DH is at school, so that's not too big of an issue.

Wish us luck!  I just hope I don't hurt myself in the process, I can't afford to do so!

I used to play softball, until I realized how much I hated it :P Glad you enjoy it!

Thanks! It wasn't my best showing out there, but I wasn't good even when I was playing regularly! I did get a run and made at least one decent play!

I loved it until I got intentionally hit by the pitcher... :)
