Bloggy Friends and Pachyderm Buddies!

I absolutely love meeting fellow bloggers online that share a lot in common with you.  Natalia over at Army of Two is one of those people for me.  She's another 30 y/o, native Californian, liberal Army wife with a Master's degree.  She's also in the enlistment process as well, heading off to basic in March to join the Army Reserve in Civil Affairs!

She and I both are in the same predicament, having to get our bodies basic training ready, and preparing for those runs!  She sounds like was typically in good shape to begin with, only being sidelined by a broken foot for four months.  Me, I haven't been in shape/physically fit for a while, aside from being on the slender side of average in general.  She so eloquently put it on her Running to Catch Up post that she feels like this right now:

By March she needs to feel like this:
Me, I'll settle for this in June:
Yes, that's an emu.
So, emu-status, here I come.  I'm not expecting to be ripped by the time I leave [hopefully by the time I get back!], but I'll settle for my personal-best-in-a-long-time.  For accountability's sake and my own motivation, I've decided to start a new page/tab on my website, recording my running distance and times.  I want to see myself make progress and I think this is the best way to do it, rather than updating you folks every time with a blog post.

Happy trails!

An Emu? Seriously Erin! Cut yourself some slack -- your definitely of Gazelle status in my own humble opinion :)
Rock on girl!
