#reverb10 Day 3 - Moment

Pick one moment during which you felt most alive this year. Describe it in vivid detail (texture, smells, voices, noises, colors). - Ali Edwards

Wow, I can't even begin to pick a moment out of my year.  I can remember experiences, and one that stands out is my trip to Nashville this summer.  Sadly, I was by myself and I was in the middle of my relocation to Colorado.  I wish I could've shared it with DH.  I splurged and stayed right down town at the Renaissance Nashville, which was an exquisite hotel.  I was able to get a military discount, which really helped.  I was exhausted when I got there, as I had driven 550 miles (9 hours) on my own.  I was ready to undress and take a long, steamy shower.  The bedding was sumptuous, and I could've died right there.  It was all done up in white, down comforter, woven cotton blanket, silky sheets, and lofty pillows, tons of them.  Thanks to a time change, I was able to curl up under all of those covers and nap before I hit the town.  With the chiming of my BlackBerry alarm, I was up and into the bathroom, with the cool feel of polished white marble under my feet.  I feel in love with the toiletries they set out - Aveda Rosemary Mint.  I'm not one for expensive hair care products, but this scent is so intoxicating that I vowed to cough up the cash when I run out of my John Frieda.  The soap was the same scent, an amber brown in color, with the grain that was reminiscent of wood.  Unlike most other motel/hotel soaps I'd used, this stuff didn't break in half when it thinned out.  This lovely little bar of soap flexed and faded away as lathered my way into oblivion.  After indulging in all of the hotel's fineries, I slipped out for the night in a full smokey eye, trotting past the Ryman in my finest pair of Old Gringos, ready to devour some local BBQ and take in the history and sounds of the Honky Tonk District.

Yes, it was a damn good night.
